Hideki Matsuyama will be determined to record his 10th victory on the PGA Tour by clinching the
Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The Japanese superstar has won 17 worldwide wins and recorded eight career top-10 finishes in major championships making him one of Asia's greatest golfers of all time.
Matsuyama's nine wins on the PGA Tour make him the most successful Japanese member of the PGA Tour in history and he has won one golf major, the 2021 Masters.

The 2013 Japan Golf Tour Most Valuable Player has been out of action since he won the 2024 Genesis Invitational on February 18 - which was his ninth win on the PGA Tour.
Matsuyama is currently placed 20th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and his best overall ranking is second place.
Why Matsuyama is one of the favourites
The eight-time Japan Golf Tour winner will be oozing with confidence as he returns to competitive golf at the Arnold Palmer Invitational having won the Genesis Invitational.
Matsuyama entered the final round six strokes off the lead but overcame the deficit, shooting a 62 to win the event and he will be keen to replicate the same form this weekend.
What did he say
“I wasn’t striking the ball really well," Matsuyama said after winning the Genesis Invitational.
"But my chipping and putting was working a lot this week, especially the second shot on 15 was one of the best I had. That really helped.
“I think it’s really important for me to keep this momentum, especially going to Augusta, so hopefully I can keep that.”
