World No. 14 Justin Thomas will be targeting further improvements when he competes in only his third PGA Tour event of the season at the Valspar Championship.
The American is still getting to grips with his game after a four-month layoff due to a back injury, which required surgery last year.
Thomas, who won his first title in three years at the RBC Heritage last April, missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational following back-to-back 79s in the opening two rounds.
However, the 32-year-old looked revitalised one week later at the Players Championship, where he opened with 68-68 before going on to finish T8, five strokes behind champion Cameron Young.
Thomas admitted his awful performance at Bay Hill actually helped his game, although he struggled with his focus the following week.
"When you kind of post two pretty humiliating scores, it's hard to give yourself too much grace," he said.
"Man, it helps. I kind of had a deep breath to myself walking off (his final hole), and I said, internally, 'I needed that'."
Thomas added: "I get spacey, and [I'm] over the ball and somehow thinking about nothing. I'm not thinking about the shot I'm trying to hit, not thinking about the yardage I'm trying to hit it. It's just, I get lost."
