After Eugenio Chacarra received an exemption for the upcoming PGA Puerto Rico Open, the Spanish golfer expressed his intention to win the tournament this week.
What to know about Eugionio Chacarra
As an amateur, Chacarra has four wins under his belt, namely at the 2017 Grand Prix de Landes, 2019 Copa de Andalusia, 2021 European Amateur Team Championship, before claiming the Amer Ari Invitational, National Invitational Tournament, and NCAA Columbus Regional in 2022.
After making great strides early in his career, Chacarra joined LIV Golf and turned professional in 2022. Chacarra’s first win as a pro came in 2022 when he won the LIV Golf Invitational Bangkok, three strokes ahead of Patrick Reed.
Thereafter, Chacarra won the 2023 St Andrews Bay Championship on the Asian Tour Playoff before claiming the Hero Indian Open ahead of Keita Nakajima in 2025.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chacarra mentioned that he hopes to emulate previous career successes in Puerto Rico this week.
“I had some chances as an amateur, I'm excited to finally have my first start on the PGA Tour, it’s a dream come true,” Chacarra said.
“Every time we tee off, I try to win. I’m here to do my best. I had some success in the professional world.
“I have three wins as a professional, in three different tours, but I’m excited to be here.
