2025 MotoGP World Championship
Grand Prix of the United Kingdom

Johann Zarco will look to build on his historic win at the French Motorcycle Grand Prix earlier this month when he takes to the grid for the MotoGP
Grand Prix of the United Kingdom, set for the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire on the afternoon of Sunday 25 May.
Zarco became the first French rider to win on home soil in more than 70 years when he triumphed at Le Mans on Sunday, 11 May, capitalising on the challenging weather conditions and holding his nerve to take the chequered flag ahead of Riders’ Championship leader Marc Marquez of the Ducati Lenovo team.
The Castrol Honda LCR (satellite team) man is the highest-placed (sixth) rider on the Championship standings. The 34-year-old now has 72 points, significantly clear of the next Honda, that of factory team (HRC Castrol Honda) rider Luca Marini. The Italian has 37 points, while his teammate Joan Mir has a mere 12 points. Honda’s wildcard Takaaki Nakagami almost overtook Mir’s tally in one fell swoop with the 10 points he scored for sixth at Le Mans.
Zarco is hopeful of a call-up to the factory Honda team for 2026, arguing that his performance at Le Mans and position in the Championship merits such a promotion.
“The discussions with Honda were very, very good even before the victory because the work I'm doing and the feeling I have with them, with the team and the way we work… we are very happy,” said the Frenchman.
“So I know that I will stay with Honda. We just need to decide if… I'm waiting [to see] what Honda really wants. We’re also speaking very clearly with Lucio [Cecchinello, team boss]. We have full support from Honda even at LCR… but clearly a victory can give a bit more.
“So let's see… but the discussion is so positive. Now it will be a matter of time [until I know where I’m going].”
Zarco’s best performance at the British Grand Prix is a sixth-place finish in his first year in MotoGP, 2017. Last year the Frenchman finished 14th in both the sprint and full-length race.
