2024-25 Italian Serie A
Matchday 38
Torino v Roma
Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
Turin, Italy
Sunday, 25 May 2025
Kick-off is at 18h45
Roma will be targeting all three points against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday, May 25 in the hope of pipping Juventus to fourth place in
Serie A.
The Giallorossi (5th) returned to winning ways when they beat AC Milan 3-1 on May 18, having seen their top-four challenge dented with a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta six days earlier.
A fourth win in five games saw Claudio Ranieri's side keep pace with the Old Lady, who occupy the final UEFA Champions League berth after maintaining the one-point gap to their rivals courtesy of a 2-0 success against Udinese.
The Bull have seen their chances of a top-10 finish fade away after losing three of their last four matches and winning just one in five.
A 1-0 reverse to Lecce on May 18 left Paolo Vanoli's side five points adrift of Como in 11th position which is the best they can hope for, although Udinese (12th) are just behind them on goal difference.
Torino's recent record in head-to-head match-ups doesn't make for good reading, however, as a 1-0 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico on October 31 extended their winless run to seven games against the Eternal City outfit.
Ranieri was coy when asked after the win against Milan if he believed Roma could still qualify for the Champions League, but stated that he has faith in his players.
"I've never believed anything, except in working hard and clearing your mind after a win or a defeat," the Italian said. "That's what I've always said: forget about what we've done.
"Let's roll our sleeves up and train hard because we have another game with different opponents, different dynamics, a different playing style, different tactics. We must always be ready and know how to play and how to stop the opposition playing.
"I believe in my players. I know we have to play Torino and they're a good, compact, energetic team who have had an excellent season. We'll go there and try to play our game then we'll see what we've been able to do at the end of the season."
