With two of three teams in Serie A already confirmed as relegated, Cremonese will now do all they can to stay in the division as they prepare to take on Pisa at home this Sunday.
As it stands, Pisa and Verona have already been relegated to Serie B, while Cremonese occupy 18th place with 28 points from 35 matches played so far.
A 2-1 defeat against Lazio last time out saw Cremonese dip four points from the safe zone, given 17th placed Lecce’s crucial 2-1 victory over Pisa during Matchday 35.
Cremonese thus battled to yield positive results throughout the campaign and more recently noted four defeats and one loss in their last five league games.
As for their upcoming opponents, Pisa are statistically the worst-performing team in the league at the moment after gathering just 18 points from 35 matches.
With just two wins to their name all season, Pisa are also on a run of six consecutive defeats and last tasted victory on 15 March, when they recorded a 3-1 win over Cagliari at home.

As the fight for survival continues, Cremonese coach Marco Giampaolo expressed that focusing on the next assignment is of high importance.
"My focus isn't on the details; the match is over. My focus is on having lost a game that, even with some technical errors, is to be expected when you play these tough matches,” Giampaolo said.
“The only disappointment is having lost a game that feels crazy, a defeat that hurts terribly. Now we need to regroup and restore our morale.
“The match is over, there are other things to focus on."
