2025-26 Spanish La Liga

Matchday 36

Osasuna v Atletico Madrid

Estadio El Sadar

Pamplona, Spain

Tuesday, 12 May 2026

Kick-off is at 19h30

Atletico Madrid will target a return to winning ways in La Liga when they make the trip to Pamplona for a clash with Osasuna at El Sadar on Tuesday, May 12.

Los Colchoneros have nothing much to play for with UEFA Champions League qualification already secured and their European journey ending at the hands of Arsenal in the semi-finals on May 5.

Diego Simeone's side pretty much have fourth place sewn up as they are nine points clear of Real Betis with a better head-to-head goal difference.

Atleti could still catch Villarreal, who are six points above them in third position and a meeting between the two teams to come on the final day of the season.

Los Rojillos need a strong finish to the campaign if they hope to qualify for Europe after picking up just four points from their last five games.

Alessio Lisci's side suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to relegation-threatened Levante on May 8, having lost 2-1 against Barcelona six days earlier.

The Navarrese outfit trail Getafe (7th) by three points in 10th spot and could still benefit from Spain being awarded an additional UEFA Champions League berth due to their coefficient points in Europe this term.

Simeone insists his players will be ready to compete in Pamplona after things didn't quite go their way against Celta, which saw them attempt 20 shots at goal without a reward.

"When you go out to play, you never want to lose, and obviously we'll compete just as we always have," he said.

"We could have won if we'd been more decisive. We're in a moment where things aren't going our way, unlike when the league started and everything was a disaster.

"Then the situation changed, we competed well in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, and in La Liga we've maintained the stability needed to qualify for the Champions League for another year.

"It's about management, staying close to them (the players), and making sure they're ready to compete on Tuesday."
