Jose Mourinho will come up against another his former teams when Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 15 March 2020, kick-off at 16:30. The match is one of 10 spread from 14 to 16 March for the 30th round of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Tottenham’s recent struggles continued when they had to fight back from a goal down to salavage a 1-1 draw at Burnley this past weekend. Spurs have gone five matches without a win across all competitions.

Manager Jose Mourinho laid into club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele after the match: "In the first half we didn't have a midfield. Of course I'm not speaking of Skipp because he's a kid of 19 who's played two hours in the last few days. I don't criticise him at all. But I'm not going to run away and I have to say he [Ndombele] has had enough time to come to a different level. I know the Premier League is difficult, and some players take a long time to adapt to a different league.”

Man United, meanwhile, continued their recent resurgence by defeating Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford – completing a league ‘double’ over their cross-town rivals for the first time in a decade.

"We're going to improve, we're going to improve as a team, they're going to improve as players. They want to learn as well and they listen to the advice we give them,” said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"We know we lack one, two, three players and some experience to be considered title contenders, we know that and we are not going to start talking about that now. We need to talk about getting up the table, getting some points, challenging for the top four because Chelsea and Leicester are too far ahead for my liking."

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen

In head-to-head stats, Tottenham and United have met in 192 previous matches. The Red Devils have claimed 92 wins compared to 52 for Spurs, while 48 games have been drawn.

When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Old Trafford in December 2019, United claimed a 2-1 home win thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford, while Dele Alli scored Spurs’ consolation.
