2025/26 Premier League

Matchday 11

Manchester City v Liverpool FC

Etihad Stadium

Manchester, England

Sunday, 9 November 2025

Kick-off is at 16h30

Manchester City will lock horns with their North West rivals, Liverpool FC, in a blockbuster Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on 9 November.

Current Form

The Citizens overcame AFC Bournemouth 3-1 at home on 2 November as they returned to winning ways after Aston Villa had ended their five-match unbeaten run on October 26.

City are undefeated in their last four home matches in the Premier League, having recorded four back-to-back victories at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, Liverpool claimed a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at home on 1 November as they snapped a four-match winless run in the league.

However, the Reds are winless in their last three matches on the road in the Premier League, having recorded three consecutive defeats as the away side.

Team News

Mateo Kovacic is the only player on City's injury list at the moment and there are no suspension concerns for the former Premier League champions.

On the other hand, Liverpool have Alisson Becker, Wataru Endo, Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Stefan Bajcetic on their injury list, but the Merseyside giants don't have suspension concerns.

Quotes

“The overall performance was very good. We got two goals, we could have scored more," Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk said after his side's win over Villa.

“We kept a clean sheet - we worked hard for that as a team. It’s not only the goalie, it’s not only the last line, it’s everyone who has to contribute to that. I’ve mentioned it many times and I know in the world we live in.

"If we concede goals then obviously the last line or the goalie will be seen as responsible for that. But I’m glad everyone chipped in and got an important win.”

Head-to-Head

Liverpool claimed a 2-0 win over City in their last meeting in the league, which was in February 2025 at the Etihad Stadium.
Therefore, the Reds are undefeated in their last four matches in the Premier League against the Citizens, having recorded two wins and two draws.
