Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi will target a better showing at the upcoming
Portugal MotoGP this weekend after a stuttering display at the recent Malaysia MotoGP.
The Italian were among the highest scoring riders leading up to the final race of the Malaysia MotoGP after placing sixth in the Sprint race at the Sepang Circuit.
However, Bezzecchi could only manage 11
th in the final showdown with Aprilia taking home just 10 Constructors points in the process.
Bezzecchi is currently in third place on the Rider’s standings on 291 points, with one win and seven podiums to his name so far. The 26-year-old’s lone win in 2025 came at the United Kingdom MotoGP where he finished ahead of Johann Zarco and Marc Marquez respectively.
Speaking after the Malaysia MotoGP, Bezzecchi believes that Aprilia have much work to do after extracting crucial information about the bike at the race.
“We knew that coming here was going to be a bit more a bit more difficult compared to Phillip Island,” Bezzecchi said.
“I felt much, much better than in the test [ninth], and because of this I'm quite satisfied.
"But of course we still have some work to do, and I think the behaviour of the bike and in general of the weekend is super good for us, because we discovered many things to work on.
“We already have many ideas. So at the end, of course, the result is not the best, but it's part of the process and we will keep working, as always, to improve.”
