Netherlands have the chance to secure their ticket to the
2026 World Cup when they face Poland in a Group G qualifier at the Stadion Narodowy on Friday, November 14.
The Oranje will be looking to join England, who are the only team to have qualified automatically for the global showpiece ahead of the final two rounds of fixtures this month.
Ronald Koeman's side lead the Eagles by three points and will clinch top spot in the group if they come away from Warsaw victorious.
The Dutch extended their unbeaten run in qualifying to six matches with a 4-0 triumph over Finland on October 12 which was their third win on the spin since playing out to a 1-1 draw with Poland on September 4.
The Poles look destined to qualify for the playoffs as they have a vastly inferior goal difference to the group leaders and would need to win big in their remaining two games to stand a chance of pipping Netherlands to pole position.
Jan Urban's side also claimed maximum points from their next two outings against Finland (3-1) and Lithuania (2-0) following the stalemate with the Oranje two months ago.
Urban acknowledges the clash with the Oranje will be step up from Lithuania, but he's relishing the opportunity to pit his wits against Koeman.
"Lithuania didn't make things too difficult for us, but that was mainly because we played well and didn't allow ourselves to get drawn into their long-ball style," Urban said.
"The next match, against the Netherlands, will give us more answers. Against a team like that, you have to perform at your very best if you want to get any points. I'm really looking forward to that match."
