2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (UEFA)
Group A - Matchday 7
Germany v Luxembourg
PreZero Arena
Sinsheim, Germany
Friday, 10 October 2025
Kick-off is at 20h45
Germany will be targeting nothing but a victory when they host Luxembourg in the
2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the PreZero Arena on 10 October.
Current Form
The Team claimed a 3-1 win over Northern Ireland at home on 7 September as they returned to winning ways in the World Cup qualifiers after losing to Slovakia.
Germany are undefeated at home in the ongoing qualifiers, having registered a win over Northern Ireland in their only game that was played on their home soil so far.
Meanwhile, Luxembourg suffered a 1-0 defeat to Slovakia at home on 7 September as they stretched their winless run to two matches in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Red Lions are also winless on the road in the ongoing qualifiers, having registered a defeat in their only away game so far.
Team News
Antonio Rudiger has been excluded from the latest Germany squad due to an injury, but five players have returned to action with the national team, namely Jonathan Burkardt, Aleksandar Pavlović, Nico Schlotterbeck and Felix Nmecha as well as Ridle Baku.
Luxembourg, on the other hand, will be without Danel Sinani, who will sit out the game against Germany due to suspension, but Christopher Martins has made a return to the squad following the injury.
Quotes
“We have a clear goal – two wins from two, in order to get firmly back on track in our World Cup qualifying campaign. Even though some players are unable to join us for this international break, we’re absolutely convinced that the squad has enough quality to do better than we did last time out," Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann said.
"After losing Toni Rüdiger, it’s so important that we have Nico Schlotterbeck back with us. In Nene Brown, we’ll also have a real talent at our disposal in the defensive department. I’m looking forward to walking out into the sold-out stadium in Sinsheim, a place that has a special place in my heart.
"And I’m excited for an electric atmosphere and a great game when we travel to Belfast, taking lots of Germany fans along with us.”
Head-to-Head
Germany emerged as 7-0 winners against Luxembourg in an international friendly match played at the Badenova Stadion in Freiburg, in May 2006.
The Team have dominated their rivalry against the Red Lions, having recorded 11 wins compared to Luxembourg's one victory.
