2025-26 Spanish La Liga
Matchday 11
Real Madrid v Valencia
Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
Madrid, Spain
Saturday, 1 November 2025
Kick-off is at 20h00

Real Madrid will be looking to keep the momentum going when they host
La Liga strugglers Valencia at the Bernabeu on Saturday, November 1 in the late kick-off.

Los Blancos continued their strong start to the season with a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Barcelona on October 26 which took them five points clear at the top of the table.

Xabi Alonso's side have now won their last three games on the spin since neighbours Atletico Madrid brought an end to their perfect record with a surprise 5-2 demolition at the Metropolitano on September 27.

Fermin Lopez's 38th-minute equaliser was the 10th goal Real have shipped this term and they've only managed to keep four clean sheets in 10 games.

Los Ches' poor form continued after a 2-0 defeat to Villarreal on October 25 saw them drop into the relegation zone on goal difference following a five-game winless run.

Carlos Corberan's side have now lost three of their last five matches and are level with Real Sociedad (17th), Real Mallorca (16th) and Levante (15th) on nine points.

Alonso believes the El Clasico win over Barca will do wonders for his team's morale, although he admits there are still areas where they can improve in a bid to avoid a repeat of last season when Valencia ran out 2-1 victors in Madrid.

"The team was very motivated. Before the game, we talked about how important it was, not only to get the three points but also to see where we were coming from and what we wanted to be," the Spaniard said.

"I'm very happy for the lads because they needed the feeling of winning a big game like this Clasico. The motivation was total. It's not just the three points, it's a victory with added significance.

"Even so, it's early days and we have a lot of work to do. We wanted to feel good and that's how it turned out. For the future, we need the same feelings we had today."
