On the back of three consecutive draws, Atalanta will hope to return to the winning column when they take on Cremonese at Stadio Giovanni Zini on Saturday.
Atalanta recorded a frustrating 0-0 draw with Lazio this past weekend, a result that followed back-to-back stalemates with Juventus and Como respectively.
Maurizio Sarri’s men last jotted down victory on 21 September following a 3-0 win over Torino at Olimpico di Torino. The Italian giants currently occupy eighth on the log, while their upcoming opponents are in 10
th after their 1-1 draw with Udinese last time out.
Cremonese’s progress has been stifled in recent times and saw out just one loss and four draws in their last five games.
Reflecting on Atalanta’s draw with Lazio, Sarri expressed that his side are battling to cope with their latest injury crisis.
“Right now we’re playing with survivors,” Sarri said.
“Both our line-ups and our formation have depended on who was available. In Genoa we had seven out, eight against Torino, and today we recovered some players at the last minute.
“I even struggled to manage the substitutions because I knew some would ask to come off.
“These last three games have been the most difficult to manage in my career, so credit to the boys – two draws and a win in this situation was not guaranteed.”
