Race for 2nd spot in Serie A intensifies

AC Milan will travel to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino where they are scheduled to face Torino in a Serie A match on May 12.
 
This will be the 40th competitive meeting between the two teams since 1993 and Milan have been dominant.
 
Milan, who are placed third on the standings, have claimed 20 victories compared to Torino's three wins, while 16 matches ended in a draw.
 
Torino succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Milan in the last meeting between the two teams which was a Serie A game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on 9 January 2021.

Meanwhile, Atalanta will be looking to boost their hopes of finishing second in Serie A when they face Benevento at the Gewiss Stadium on May 12. 
 
The two teams will clash for the fourth time across all competitions with Atalanta having dominated this rivalry.
 
Atalanta, who are currently placed second on the standings, are undefeated against Benevento having registered three victories. 
 
Atalanta emerged 4-1 winners over Benevento in the last meeting between the two teams which was a Serie A match at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito on 9 January 2021.
 
While Juventus FC, who are placed fifth on the standings, will be the visitors at the MAPEI Stadium where they are scheduled to face Sassuolo on May 12. 
 
The two teams will be meeting for the 16th time across all competitions since 2013 when Sassuolo were promoted to the top-flight league for the first time.
 
Juventus have dominated this fixture - recording 11 wins compared to Sassuolo's one victory, while three games ended in a draw.
 
The last meeting between the two teams in the league was on 10 January 2021 and the game ended in a 3-1 win in favour of Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

Andre Pirlo, the Juventus manager, took responsibility for his side's recent 3-0 defeat to Milan and he will be keen to ensure that Old Lady returns to winning ways against Sassuolo. 
 
"There must always be pride in wearing this shirt and certain performances must not be there. I had a different project in mind," Pirlo said. 
 
"I tried to work according to certain principles, at times we had to adapt, but I am convinced that I have an excellent team at my disposal. If something went wrong, I take responsibility for it.”
 
Lastly, Napoli will be hoping to climb up to the second place with a win over Udinese at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on May 11. 
 
This will be the 40th competitive meeting between the two teams since 1993 and Napoli have the edge over Udinese. 
 
Napoli, who are placed fourth on the standings, have the upper hand having registered 18 victories compared to Udinese's nine wins, while 12 matches ended in a draw.
 
Their last match in the league was on 10 January 2021 and Napoli emerged 2-1 winners in a game that took place at the Dacia Arena.
