Justin Rose has set his sights on winning his first Wyndham Championship title this week (13-16 August).

The Englishman is an accomplished golfer having won a golf major and an Olympic Gold medal.

As a result, Rose and Hall of Fame members Gary Player, David Graham, Hale Irwin and Bernhard Langer are the only five golfers to win official tournaments on all six continents on which golf is played.

The 40-year-old, who won the 2013 US Open, has also twice been runner-up at the Masters' Tournament, in 2015 and 2017.

Rose is set to make his fifth Wyndham Championship appearance next week and he will be hoping to clinch his maiden trophy this year.

The South Africa-born player finished tied for fifth in the competition in 2009 and tied for sixth in 2006.

The defending champion is American James Tyree (JT) Poston, who lifted his maiden Wyndham Championship trophy last year.

Major winners Zach Johnson, Race to Dubai No. 7 Graeme McDowell, Danny Willett, Jim Furyk, Charl Schwartzel and Lucas Glover will participate in this year's tournament.

While former Wyndham winners three-time champion Davis Love III, two-time champ Brandt Snedeker, Ryan Moore, Si Woo Kim, Carl Pettersson and Arjun Atwal will be also competing.

Rose is highly-rated by the tournament director Mark Brazil, who believes that the 10-time PGA Tour winner has been successful in the last decade.

“We are definitely excited to have Justin Rose back in the Wyndham Championship field,” Brazil said.

“He’s been one of the most dominant players on the PGA TOUR in the last 10 years. He’s a world-class player and an even better person.”

The 2020 Wyndham Championship offers a $6.4 million purse with a winner's share of $1.152 million.
