RSD Espanyol will square off with Atletico Madrid in a
Spanish La Liga match at the RCDE Stadium on September 12.
The Magical were beaten 1-0 by Real Mallorca away in their previous league game which was played on August 27.
Espanyol are now winless in their last 13 matches in this competition having recorded four draws and nine defeats.

The Magical are also winless in their last six home matches in La Liga having recorded two successive draws and four consecutive defeats.
"Many things happened that we did not want to happen [against Mallorca] and we must congratulate the winners, who in those details were better than us," Vicente Moreno, the Espanyol manager said.
"We have to continue working. Our goal is to do the things we did in the previous two weeks against the other La Liga rivals.
"The team was very imprecise and nothing came out of what we had prepared. We will surely improve and fight to win the next game [against Atletico]."

Meanwhile, Atletico were held to a 2-2 draw by Villarreal at home in their previous league game which was played on August 29.
The draw extended the Mattress Makers' unbeaten run to eight matches having registered two draws and six wins.
Atletico are also unbeaten in their last four away league matches having recorded three victories and one draw.
The last league meeting between Espanyol and Atletico was on 01 March 2020.
The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate and it was played at Espanyol's home ground, RCDE Stadium.
