On the back of three consecutive wins at the start of the 2025/26
La Liga campaign, the high-flying Athletic Bilbao will look ahead to their test against Alaves this coming Saturday.
Keeping up with the pace set by the likes of Real Madrid and Villareal, Bilbao go into their next game with a 100%-win record to their name.
Sitting in second-place ahead of matchday four, Bilbao oversaw victories against Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis respectively.

Alaves, who are in 11
th place currently, battled to build on their 2-1 win against Levante on the 25/26 opening day.
Since then, Alaves went on to record a 1-0 defeat against Real Betis and also, a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid shortly before the international break.
Following transfer news that made headlines in LaLiga, Athletic Bilbao came agonisingly close to signing former defender Aymeric Laporte. With the transfer falling through at the last minute, Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverse expressed that the club will now move forward.
“These situations happen in football. It’s not just happened to us, but to other teams too,” Valverde said.
“This is the second time for me. I remember another one at Olympiacos.
“Instead of looking at all that, we have to look ahead, see the possibilities we have, and try to move forward.”
