Justin Thomas is amongst seven of the world's top-10 players set to compete at the
Procore Championship which tees off on Thursday, September 11.
The field for the first event of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Fall is stacked and includes 10 of the 12 United States Ryder Cup team.
Thomas, who is ranked No. 4 in the world, appears to enjoy playing in Napa after finishing in the top 10 in each of his last four appearances.
The American's best result of T3 came in 2015 and he finished fifth most recently in 2023, missing the cut just once (2014) in six outings to California.
Thomas achieved his 16th career victory on the PGA Tour at the RBC Heritage in April and he came second at the American Express, the Valspar Championship and the Truist Championship (T2).
The 32-year-old was asked during the Tour Championship, where he finished T7, to give his views on a packed 2026 schedule and whether big-name players like himself could skip certain events.
"Yeah, I go back and forth on that. I'm a believer in the sense of all of us playing in all these events is kind of the purpose of them," Thomas said.
"But at the same time, yeah, it's something I've... I look at it in the sense of if there's a particular golf course or there's something to where I don't feel like I can play well or it's a place that maybe doesn't fit my eye historically, whatever it may be, then as a professional golfer, I have a hard time... I always felt that way about the WGC in China.
"That was a course where it's like, I went and played, and I am grinding my tail off to shoot like 1- or 2-under every day, and like 25-under wins. I'm like, I don't see it. I can't fathom how people can shoot those scores.
"After going for two years, I'm like, it doesn't make sense for me to play this golf tournament because I can't physically do that."
