Tottenham target victory in Belgrade

2019-20 UEFA Champions League

Matchday 4

5-6 November 2019

Tottenham Hotspur will target a victory in Belgrade when they face hosts Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) at Red Star Stadium in a Group B clash in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 6 November 2019, kick-off at 20:00 CAT.

Spurs crushed the Serbian club 5-0 when the teams met in London in October, with Harry Kane (two), Son Heung-Min (two) and Erik Lamela sharing the goals. It was a much-needed victory for the Premier League side, who went down 7-2 against Bayern Munich earlier in the group stage.

As for Crvena Zvezda, they defeated Olympiakos in their last home game and will be hoping to get the better of Spurs this time around, a result which would see them leapfrog the Londoners and move into second spot behind Bayern.

Crvena Zvezda coach Vladan Milojevic.

“We have a lot of self-confidence in front of our fans. We expect a full stadium at home which raises our self-confidence which in this game we were lacking. Players should take more responsibilities in games like this and step up,” said Crvena Zvezda coach Vladan Milojevic.

Tottenham find themselves in the second qualification position despite having just four points to their name, but a further victory would go a long way in taking them toward the knockout phase of the competition.

Harry Kane

"In any top competition, it's a fine line between winning and losing. We probably haven't got the rub of the green this season, but that's part of the game and we have to overcome that,” said Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The other Group B game on Wednesday sees Bayern Munich host Olympiakos at the Allianz Arena. A victory for the German giants would see them secure a berth in the next phase.
