Valencia will chase a winning start to the 2019/20 La Liga season when they play host to Real Sociedad at Estadio de Mestalla on Saturday 17 August.
Valencia were the ‘best of the rest’ behind the big three of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid last season, earning themselves a place in the UEFA Champions League as a result.
Keeping that fourth spot will again be the ambition for Los Che and coach Marcelino. In the transfer market they have completed some good business by bringing in the likes of Max Gomez and Denis Cheryshev to strengthen their squad.

Pre-season has brought mixed results for Valencia, but there is an optimism around the club – something they will look to build on with an opening-round win over Sociedad.
The San Sebastian club finished a respectable ninth last term, and coach Imanol Alguacil will hope for a similarly strong showing this season.
