United States will be the favourites for the Women’s World Cup title when they face Netherlands in the final on Sunday 7 July 2019, kick-off at 15h00.

The match at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Decines-Charpieu sees Jill Ellis’ US team looking to consolidate their position as the powerhouse of international women’s football.

United States coach Jill Ellis

The Americans have certainly made headlines at the tournament in France, from their remarkable 13-0 win over Thailand in the group stages, to their thrilling 2-1 victory against England this midweek which will go down as a WWC classic.

The US have also beaten Chile, Sweden, Spain and hosts France in between, with their impressive haul of 24 goals scored and just three conceded underlining that they are a superbly balanced team.

Jill Ellis will insist that her team must not underestimate their opponents for the final, even if the Stars and Stripes are clear favourites for the title and seemingly destined to make yet more WWC history.

Victory for the US would see them claim a record-extending fourth Women's World Cup title and consolidate their status as the leading nation in women’s football.
