Novak Djokovic on course to defend Wimbledon crown

2019 Wimbledon Championships

Women’s and Men’s Singles finals

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July

Novak Djokovic remains on course to defend his Wimbledon Championships title, having reached the final four of the Men’s Singles at the tournament in London.

The Serbian is chasing a fifth triumph at SW19, having lifted the trophy in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2018.

Djokovic is chasing a fifth Wimbledon title.

Thus far in the 2019 tournament, Djokovic has overcome Philipp Kohlschreiber, Denis Kudla, Hubert Hurkacz, Ugo Humbert and David Goffin to reach the final four.

His next opponent will be Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, who has reached a first Grand Slam semifinal after beating Peter Gojowczyk, Steve Darcis, Karen Khachanov, Benoit Paire and Guido Pella.

Djokovic will face Roberto Bautista Agut in the semifinal.

In head-to-head terms, Djokovic has won seven of the 10 matches he has had against Bautista Agut. However, the Spaniard has beaten the Serbian twice this year (the players’ two most-recent meetings): 1-6 7-5 6-3 at the ATP Masters in Miami and 3-6 7-6 6-4 at the Doha Open.

The winner will face either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal in the final at Centre Court on Sunday.
