The Carabao Cup in England begins to approach the business end this week with eight epic battles lined-up to decide the fate of the remaining teams. After the untimely death of Leicester City’s owner on Saturday the Foxes fixture against fellow Premier League outfit Southampton has been postponed with a new date yet to be set.

BOURNEMOUTH VS NORWICH CITY – THE VITALITY STADIUM

Two teams in top form so far in 2018, Bournemouth and Norwich, will clash in the south coast of England for the first time since the duo’s pair of Premier League meetings between them in the 2015-16 campaign during which the Canaries were relegated.

Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals in Reach – Round of 16 Preview

The Cherries, who currently sit seventh in England’s top-flight, have won four of their last five matches since a humbling 4-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley last month while Norwich find themselves on a three-match winning streak to occupy fourth place in the Championship and one of the precious promotion playoff places.
Bournemouth’s 3-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium in January 2016 ended a six-match winless run against Norwich including defeat over two-legs in the first round of the League Cup in August and September 2000.

ARSENAL VS BLACKPOOL – THE EMIRATES STADIUM

The Gunners’ remarkable 11-game winning run came to an end when they were held to a 2-2 draw in Sunday’s London derby against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, a result which could see Unai Emery’s men slip out of the top four if near neighbours Spurs can mastermind an unlikely victory over Premier League champions Manchester City on Monday night.

Blackpool find themselves in the depths of League One although their 3-2 defeat at the hands of Fleetwood Town this past weekend was just their second loss in their last eleven matches in all competitions.

The Tangerines will be only slightly hopeful of bettering the 6-0 battering they were handed by the Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in 2010 during their solitary season in the promised land when Theo Walcott, who departed for Everton in January, hit the back of the net three times.
