Following a disappointing loss in La Liga last time out, Real Madrid will host Getafe at the Santiago Bernabéu next Monday in yet another crucial league clash as they aim to challenge for the league title once more.
Real Madrid is currently second in La Liga with 60 points after 25 matches played, trailing log leaders Barcelona by a slender point heading into their next fixture. Getafe currently occupy 12th position on 29 points from 25 games, as they look to overcome their sticky spell of results in recent game weeks.
Los Blancos enter this fixture following a 2-1 loss to Osasuna at El Sadar this past Saturday, a result that dented their progress toward their charge of claiming a 37th league trophy.
In contrast, Getafe’s most recent league match saw them lose 1-0 to Sevilla at the Coliseum Stadium on Sunday, as their opponents leapfrogged into 11th place.
Regarding their respective form sheets, Madrid recorded four wins and one loss in their previous five matches, while Getafe has two draws, two victories and one defeat in their last handful of LaLiga games.

Considering Madrid's recent loss, coach Alvaro Arbeloa lamented his side's performance and reiterated the massive task of players representing the iconic club.
"It wasn't a good game for us," Arbeloa said.
"We can do a lot more, we can play much better. It isn't easy to do it in midweek and then a Sunday, but those are the demands, this is Real Madrid. We knew how difficult it would be to come here."
