With Cristian Chivu breaking records at Inter Milan this season, the Italian giants will now shift their focus to another crucial Serie A clash on home soil this Saturday.
Chivu set a new record for the most points amassed in a debut campaign after 26 matches for the club, as Inter occupy top spot in the league with 64 points. Inter are also on a seven-match winning streak in Serie A, while second-placed AC Milan trails the summit by 10 points.
As for Genoa, the Liguria side are 14th with 27 points from 26 matches, just three points away from the relegation zone.
Inter move into their upcoming league fixture on the back of a 2-0 away win at Lecce during Matchday 26, meanwhile Genoa’s most recent outing was a 3-0 home victory over Torino at Luigi Ferraris this past Sunday.
While Inter boast an impressive winning streak, Genoa struggled to gain positive momentum, recording two wins, two losses and one draw in their last five league ties.

Reflecting on Inter’s victory over Lecce, Chivu lauded his players for their efforts throughout the campaign as the club seeks to win their first Scudetto since the 23/24 season.
“I have to compliment these players for understanding the moment,” Chivu said.
“Everything good they have done is entirely their merit. I have a fantastic group who give everything, mentally, physically, technically and tactically.
“We take it game by game, knowing we can win or lose, but always giving our maximum. That does these players credit.”
