The 2019/20 National Basketball Association (NBA) conference semi-finals will take centre stage between 4 and 10 September.
 
One of the favourites for this season's NBA championship, Los Angeles Lakers are yet to learn their opponents for the Western Conference semi-finals.
 
The Lakers, who eliminated Portland Trail Blazers in the First Round, are scheduled to take on the winner between Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
 
The First Round tie between Rockets and Thunder is currently tied at 3-3 with one match left which is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, September 02.

The winner will take on the Lakers with the NBA giants keen to end their 10-year wait for a championship having won their last title in 2010.
 
The Lakers will once again look to star player LeBron James, who is one of the best basketball players in the world having won three NBA championships.
 
Frank Vogel, the Lakers head coach, recently described James as  'always a tower of strength' for his team as they await the Rockets or Thunder.

"He is always a tower of strength for our guys and a great leader - and hasn't been any different in the last couple of days," Vogel said. 
 
"He was excited to get back on the basketball court, today the whole group was excited to get back on the basketball court and we are excited to resume play."

The Rockets are looking to go all the way and clinch their third NBA title this season having won it in 1994 and 1995.
 
Their star player is James Harden, who is one of the NBA's most prolific scorers and he has earned recognition as the best shooting guard in the competition. 
 
While the Thunder are hoping to end their 41-year wait for the championship this season having won it once which was in 1979.
 
Their key player is Chris Paul - a two-time Olympic gold medalist and the point guard led the NBA in assists four times and steals six times.
 
Lastly, Los Angeles Clippers have booked their place in the Western Conference semi-finals, but they are awaiting the winner between Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.
 
Two former NBA champions Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks are battling it out in the Eastern Conference semi-final tie.
 
While the other Eastern Conference semi-final tie is between Boston Celtics and defending champions Toronto Raptors.
