The Reds bounced back from a 7-2 loss away to Aston Villa with a 2-2 draw versus league leaders Everton at Goodison Park last weekend, with Jordan Henderson unlucky to have a late winner denied by VAR.

Jurgen Klopp was delighted with his team's performance on the day, but will be hurt by Virgil van Dijk's injury. The Netherlands international will need surgery and could miss most of the season as a result, having played such a key role in their run to the championship last season.

For the fans

"The performance was top, it was a top game and a good game for both teams," Klopp told BT Sport. "We were dominant against a side full of confidence and with a clear plan.

"It was probably the best away game since I was at Liverpool," he added. "I saw a really good performance. I would be more happy if we win but I wanted to see a response and see the team we were before."

Sheffield are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season and conjured their first point of the campaign in a 1-1 draw away to Fulham last time out. The Blades currently occupy 19th spot on the log standings.

Liverpool won the corresponding fixture last season 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, who scored his 100th goal for the club last weekend, and fellow African Sadio Mane.
