As a team in form during the closing stages of the Serie A campaign, Juventus could make it three on the bounce when they face Bologna at home on Sunday.

Juventus will enter their next Serie A assignment sitting in fourth position with 60 points after 32 matches played as they look to book their ticket into the UEFA Champions League next season.

The Old Lady secured a gritty 1-0 away win against Atalanta during Matchday 32, further distancing themselves from fifth-placed Como by two points.

Overall, Juventus recorded four wins and one draw in their previous five league games, while Bologna recorded three wins and two defeats in the same number of matches.

Bologna, also on a two-match winning streak, took home maximum points last time out following a 2-0 win against Lecce at home.

Adding to their ambitions this season, Bologna have 48 points from 32 fixtures and are nine points adrift of the UEFA Conference League qualification spot at this stage of the campaign.

With Juventus’ win over Atalanta in mind, Luciano Spalletti revealed that his side entered the match with fitness issues across the pitch and needed ‘adjustments’ to get over the line.

“These matches are worth more than three points. Unfortunately, we weren’t in the best physical condition before the match, as Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceição were struggling with technical issues,” Spalletti said.

“I decided to start them to see what the pair could offer, but both were below the required standard, and Toram also faced a problem.

“We made mistakes in the first half and never gave Conceição the chance to exploit the flanks, which is his strength. Once we made a few adjustments and regained our rhythm, the second half was a different game.”
