Regarded as one of football’s fiercest rivalries, a blockbuster Serie A clash awaits as AC Milan and Inter Milan prepare to do battle in the latest edition of the Milan derby at the San Siro on Sunday.
With high stakes for both sides, first-placed Inter will hope to extend their advantage at the top of the table, while second-placed Milan are chasing momentum in the Scudetto hunt.
Inter Milan sits at the top of the Serie A table, leading with 67 points from 27 games, 10 points ahead of their arch rivals. AC Milan currently occupy 2nd place on 57 points, while European qualification comes as a likely prospect at the end of the campaign.
The table toppers go into the next game following a 2-0 win over Genoa on home soil, recording their 22nd win of the campaign last weekend. Milan likewise found success last time out, following a 2-0 victory against Cremonese this past Sunday.
With Milan behind the log leaders, Massimiliano Allegri’s side recorded three wins, one draw and one defeat in their last five league matches while Inter are on a run of eight consecutive victories in Serie A.

Following Inter’s win over Genoa, Cristian Chivu warned his players not to become complacent as they look to win their first league title since the 2023/24 season.
"We prepare for every match in the best way, mentally and physically, treating every game the same way without looking at the name of our opponents," Chivu said.
"That is what we have been trying to do since the start of the season. There are 11 rounds to go, 33 points up for grabs, so the Scudetto is not won yet.
Allegri on the other hand, recently provided clarity on his future at the club, amid reports of being unhappy in Milan.
“There’s total harmony with AC Milan,” Allegri said after Milan’s win over Cremonese.
“We are on the same page, working together. The club is planning for AC Milan future. I am happy to be here”.
