The fight for the best team in Los Angeles has never been more anticipated and NBA fans won't have to wait long to see the battle commence as the Clippers and Lakers face each other in the Staples Center on opening night later this month.
The Los Angeles Clippers had a fairly successful campaign last season, which saw them push the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs but ultimately fall short in six-games.
But the arrival of last seasons FInals MVP Kahwi Leonard in free agency and regular season MVP-candidate Paul George - through trade - has boosted the Clippers' expectations for the coming season.
Unfortunately, George is set to be out of action until November after undergoing multiple shoulder surgeries in the off-season, but his absence could turn-out to prove that the Clippers will be a force to be reckoned with if they manage to beat LeBron James' Lakers on October 23.

The Clippers will be aiming to maintain their position as the scrappy underdog with Patrick Beverley leading the charge, but now boasting two stars the team will struggle to convince NBA fans they will be underdogs against any opponent.
Besides the defensive and offensively talented stars, the Clippers kept hold of Sixth Man of the Year and scorer Lou WIlliams as well as fellow bench-star Montrezl Harrell as they attempt to mount their challenge for NBA supremacy.
However, the effects of losing breakout rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari as part of the PG13 trade should not be undermined as the team could take some time to develop into the juggernaut they are tauted to become.
The "other" team in LA have never had higher expectations, and will believe come June they can hang a banner of their own inside the Staples Center.
