FC Barcelona will be eager to make a statement of intent when they host Bayern Munich in a 2021/22

Barca are firmly in a rebuilding phase following Lionel Messi's departure. A cost-cutting transfer window also included Antoine Griezmann's sale to Atletico Madrid, but manager Ronald Koeman is confident that the Spanish giants will continue to be competitive this season.
The acquisitions of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Luuk de Jong make for a new look Barcelona side.
"There are always things to improve but I'll tell you one thing: if we have everyone available, we can do big things," Koeman said of Barca's chances this season.
"We have a great team. We still have to be realistic, it will be difficult, but I am optimistic and ambitious."
Bayern are under new management with Julian Nagelsmann having taken over the reins from new Germany boss Hansi Flick at the start of the season. Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer have followed him to the six-time UCL champions from RB Leipzig who they beat 4-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since that famous 8-2 win for Bayern over Barca last year. The German champions went on to win the title that season with Robert Lewandowski, who is third on the Champions League's all-time scoring list, the main protagonist.
