The Golden State Warriors will meet Brooklyn Nets in a National Basketball Association (NBA) match at the Chase Center on February 14.
 
This will be the 93rd meeting between the two former American champions. 
 
The Warriors have dominated this rivalry having registered 54 wins compared to the Nets' 38 victories.

Their last meeting was on 23 December 2020 and the Nets secured a 125-99 victory over the Warriors at the Barclays Center.
 
The Warriors find themselves on the eighth spot on the Western Conference standings having recorded 12 wins and 11 defeats.

The San Francisco-based side suffered a 111-107 defeat to Boston Celtics in their last home game which was played on 3 February 2021.
 
The defeat ended the Warriors' three-match unbeaten run having registered three consecutive victories.

Meanwhile, the Nets are placed third on the Eastern Conference standings having recorded 14 wins and 11 defeats.
 
The Brooklyn-based side lost 124-108 to Philadelphia 76ers in their last away match which took place on 7 February 2021.

They are now winless in their last two matches on the road having recorded two consecutive defeats as the visitors. 
 
Steve Nash, the Nets head coach, wants the team's recent loss to 76ers to be a learning experience.
 
"Hopefully it’s an experience that affords us something. I don’t really look at it in those terms. I think that’s getting a little ahead of ourselves," Nash said. 
 
"For us, especially this season where we have so much work to do and we need time, we’ve really got to focus on ourselves and try to improve and figure out who we are.
 
"Where we’re going and how we’re going to get there. If we can stick to that, we’ll be a good team come playoff time regardless of some of these games earlier."
